There are loads of iconic classic cars in the world, and then there are some few that simply ticks all of the boxes and has the presence and power to match its reputation, the Jaguar E-Type is that car, and this one is up for sale.
In 1969 the 2+2 E-Type was launched and this is one of 5326 Series 2’s in this configuration. She is beautifully restored and from the ground up she looks right and certainly feels like a proper classic sports car.
The green exterior and full leather finished interior sits very well together and finishes the car off just right. The paintwork is in very good condition all over and the interior is immaculate.
This example runs the sought after 4.2L six cylinder engine and has a 4 speed automatic transmission. Being an American spec car, originally delivered in New York to her first owner, Mr Lester Pesky, she is LHD and has 2 de-tuned Stromberg Carburators fitted instead of the standard 3 SU’s as in the UK, in order to comply with US Regulations. Having recently been tuned up, calibrated and a serviced she runs very well and everything is behaving as intended.
Suspension work has been done and this example has a limited slip diff. Front and rear suspension was upgraded as well and handles great. The stance of an E-Type deserves to be complimented by a proper suspension. The electricals work and she runs exceptionally well, a real drivers car with the boot to back it up.
Not much history is available for this example but it is clear that someone spent some money to get her to this condition and quality.
A definite must see!
